The ZOE Network's Haiti Earthquake Relief

As you are well aware, Haiti has suffered much devastation. We all watch in bewilderment from the comfort of our homes and wonder how we can help.

U.N. humanitarian spokeswoman Elisabeth Byrs told The Associated Press that coordinating the delivery of resources is a "logistical nightmare." As a result, opposed to directing funding to larger organizations and not be sure of when (or if) the funds will get where we want them to go, we're asking that you donate directly to the Haiti Micah Project (see http://www.haiti-micah.org) to ensure that 100% of the funds you give will go to directly to the people in need.

The Haiti Micah Project is an orphanage located in Mirebalais, Haiti that has become a City of Refuge for survivors leaving Port-au-Prince who are looking for a safe haven.  The organization's founder, Father Joseph Constant, is currently focused on ensuring that the home remains operational - which means they need money - to service the hundreds of street children that they feed, clothe, and educate on a daily basis along with the scores of people that have come to them as a result of the earthquake.

Why not give this way, versus going through the red tape of trying to figure out which organization is "going to do the right thing" with your gift? If you'd like to discuss your contribution prior to making it, please feel free to call me (Karon) at 240.286.5258.  In one week we have raised over $500 for the orphanage, and it is our desire to, at a minimum, match that donation WEEKLY until they can tap into the millions of dollars that have been donated to larger organizations that will hopefully trickle down to them at some point in the near future.

We are also going to coordinate a shipment of non-perishable items as well in the next few weeks as soon as we get more specific direction on what's needed and how we'll get it there.   If you're interested in participating in that capacity please let us know.

All donations to ZOE Group Foundation are tax deductible.
